Quapaw Canoe Company
Almost 25 years ago, Quapaw Canoe Company was opened out of Clarksdale, Mississippi by John Ruskey to provide guided canoe and kayak expeditions on the Lower Mississippi River wilderness and its tributaries.
John Ruskey, originally from Colorado, is a master canoe builder and riverman. As one of the most knowledgeable guides on the Mississippi, his passion for the river has brought thousands of people out on the river and islands. The hand-made 30ft Voyaguer cypress canoes he and his team build at their headquarters in Mississippi are some of the most iconic and historic craft capable of safely nagivagting big, moving water.
